Close to 750 students have been named to the Fall 2020 Dean's List at Western New England University. To qualify for the Dean's List, students must achieve a GPA of 3.30 or higher.

Three students from the Western New England University (WNE) College of Business competed in the Boston Regional Fed Challenge. The WNE Fed Challenge Team, represented by Finance majors Brendan O'Brien, Nathan Rosenkranz, and Vincent Viturale is an annual academic team competition for undergraduate students in which participants analyze current economic and financial conditions and formulate monetary policy recommendations, modeling the Federal Open Market Committee.

The Western New England University chapter of Alpha Mu Alpha National Honor Society welcomed new students at the University's annual induction ceremony which took place virtually on May 14.

Hossein Cheraghi, Dean of the College of Engineering, announced that the Western New England University chapter of Tau Beta Pi, the honor society for engineering students, has inducted 19 students this spring into this prestigious organization. Eligible student must demonstrate outstanding scholarship and professional integrity. This year's induction ceremony was held virtually on May 15, 2020. Dean Cheraghi said "We commend all of you on your outstanding efforts in completing your degree requirements in an online learing environment. We are inspired by your resiliency and hard work during this hard time. We may not be together physically, however, we are all a part of the College of Engineering family." "It is with great pride that we recognize the members of our national engineering honor society, Tau Beta Pi, " said Dr. Richard Grabiec, Assistant Dean of the college of Engineering as he announced the inductees.

Western New England University held its 46th Annual Cocurricular Award Ceremony virtually on May 1 recognizing those students who have distinguished themselves within the area of cocurricular involvement.

Dr. Mary Schoonmaker, Director of Western New England University's Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, announced the recipients of The Harold Grinspoon Foundation Spirit Awards. Each spring, faculty from the greater Springfield area universities and colleges nominate students who have demonstrated entrepreneurship through their endeavors at school. These awards are traditionally presented at the Grinspoon Spring banquet, which was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Western New England University has inducted 39 student-athletes into the Chi Alpha Sigma National Honor Society in a virtual ceremony on May 8.
