Over 20 students from the Western New England University College of Engineering were welcomed into Alpha Lambda Delta National Honor Society in a virtual induction ceremony held on March 5. Alpha Lambda Delta recognizes the best and brightest members of the nation's first-year college students. The mission of the Society is to encourage superior academic achievement, to promote intelligent living and a high standard of learning, and to assist students in recognizing and developing meaningful goals in society. Students in Alpha Lambda Delta must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 after their first semester of full-time enrollment.

Eligible student must demonstrate outstanding scholarship and professional integrity. This year's induction ceremony was held virtually on May 15, 2020. Dean Cheraghi said "We commend all of you on your outstanding efforts in completing your degree requirements in an online learing environment. We are inspired by your resiliency and hard work during this hard time. We may not be together physically, however, we are all a part of the College of Engineering family." "It is with great pride that we recognize the members of our national engineering honor society, Tau Beta Pi, " said Dr. Richard Grabiec, Assistant Dean of the college of Engineering as he announced the inductees.

Dr. Sharianne Walker, Dean of Western New England University's College of Business, announced that the Western New England University chapter of Sigma Nu Tau has inducted five students and one Honorary Entrepreneur into this prestigious organization. Sigma Nu Tau is a national, academic honor society for entrepreneurship majors who perform well academically, and possess the traits of honor, integrity, and a strong entrepreneurial spirit. Sigma Nu Tau's mission is to promote, recognize, and reward academic excellence in entrepreneurship and to encourage and recognize the practice of principled entrepreneurship.
