In his remarks President Robert E. Johnson referred to the resiliency and toughness demonstrated in the midst of the pandemic, "You have proven yourselves to be a class of persistence and perseverance, never lose that. Have a dream and a plan to get there and you will transform the world."
Emily Wambach, graduating with a major in Biomedical Engineering and a minor in Psychology, was selected as the graduating student who would deliver the student address. "We cannot say that we all walked the same path, but we can say that we ended at the same point, walking out today as alumni. It might not have been smooth or straight, you could have taken a wrong turn or even started over completely, but you didn't allow that to stop you. Don't let fear keep you from accomplishing all that you want in life because if it doesn't challenge you, it doesn't change you," added Wambach as she addressed her fellow graduates.
The Western New England University graduating class of 2023 hailed from 20 states which were: Arizona, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, Maine, Minnesota, Montana, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Vermont, and Washington.
