Rebecca Liudzius Honored at Western New England University

Rebecca E. Liudzius of Middletown, CT, received the Nancy Hoar Excellence in Communication award during the College Honors Ceremonies at Western New England University. This award is given to the graduating senior with the highest overall GPA in Communication. Dr. Doug Battema, Chair of the Communication Department and Professor of Communication, presented the award.

Described as a rare and precocious thinker, combining a methodical and systematic approach to projects with the capacity to make intuitive leaps and innovative connections among ideas, Liudzius is a critical and meticulous writer, crafting engaging essays based on sound research. With a 3.77 overall GPA in her undergraduate career, Liudzius completed the university's honors program, is a member of the freshman honors society, Alpha Lambda Delta, and the communication honors society, Lambda Pi Eta.

During her time at Western New England University, Liudzius volunteered at the Gray House, a community human services organization, chose to intern with the American Red Cross, and worked as a First Year Seminar Assistant.

Liudzuis graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication - Public Relations and will attend the master's program in Public Relations at Boston University in the fall.
