Maryann E. Gubala Honored at Western New England University College of Arts and Sciences Awards Ceremony

Maryann Gubala received the Nancy Hoar Excellence in Communication Award at the 2016 College of Arts and Sciences Awards Ceremony at Western New England University.

This award is given to the graduating senior with the highest overall GPA in Communication. Dr. Doug Battema, Chair and Professor of Communication, presented the award.

Gubala, a member of Alpha Lambda Delta and Lambda Pi Eta Honor Societies, is graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication - Media Theory & Production.

"Maryann is one of the brightest students I have taught at Western New England: a polished writer, a deep and critically engaged thinker, a talented videographer, and a skilled researcher," said Dr. Battema at the award ceremony.
