Penny M. King of Indian Orchard, MA, has been inducted into the Western New England University chapter of Mortar Board, a national honor society. King is majoring in Accounting at the University.

Mortar Board is a national honor society that has recognized college seniors since its founding in 1918. Mortar Board provides opportunities for continued leadership development, promotes service to colleges and universities, and encourages lifelong contributions to the global community. The Pynchon chapter at Western New England College was chartered in 2000 and currently has 34 members.

Western New England University is a private, independent, coeducational institution founded in 1919. Located on an attractive 215-acre suburban campus in Springfield, Massachusetts, Western New England serves 3,965 students, including 2,575 full-time undergraduate students.
