Kelly Byrnes Awarded at Western New England University Student Media Festival

Western New England University graduating senior Kelly Byrnes from Newington, CT was among a group of 15 distinguished winners in the 14th annual Student Media Festival held in the Lyman and Leslie Wood Auditorium on the University campus. Kelly's talent was showcased in this year's Media Festival with her two winning entries earning first place in Radio Essay for her entry titled "Washington D.C. Internship" and third place in Radio Report for "Bathroom Bills."

The Student Media Festival is a competitive festival open to all students designed to give students the opportunity to express their creativity and production skills and to showcase and celebrate the work students have produced throughout the academic year.

The event is sponsored by the College of Arts and Sciences and the Department of Communication.

Byrnes is majoring in Communication - Journalism at the University.
