Jake T. Picard Honored at Western New England University College of Arts and Sciences Awards Ceremony

Jake Picard received the Excellence in Political Science Award and Dean's Award for Academic Excellence at the 2016 College of Arts and Sciences Awards Ceremony at Western New England University.

The Excellence in Political Science Award is presented to the outstanding graduating senior in Political Science. The Dean's Award is presented to the graduating senior with the top grade-point average in four consecutive years. Dr. Peter Fairman, Associate Professor of Political Science, presented the Excellence in Political Science Award. Dean Ghahramani presented the Dean's Award.

Picard, a member of Alpha Lambda Delta and Pi Sigma Alpha Honor Societies, is graduating summa cum laude with Honors with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science - Economics minor.

"Jake is a truly exceptional student with a perfect 4.0 GPA while working two jobs and being involved in three different campus organizations," said Dr. Fairman at the Honors Ceremony. "He is a model classroom participant, strong in his conservative beliefs yet unfailingly respectful and gracious toward others. He has the intellectual tools and passion to achieve great things."
