Eve Carciofi appears in "Beauty and the Beast" at Western New England University

2017 Jun 14

Eve E. Carciofi, of Tewksbury, MA, appears in Western New England University's spring production of Beauty and the Beast to sold-out audiences.

Based on the 1740 French Fairytale, La Belle et La Bete, Disney's Beauty and the Beast just celebrated its 25th anniversary this past fall. "Beauty and the Beast resonates with all ages which accounts for its longevity," says Directors Hillary Haft Bucs and Alexandria Escribano. "It has a compelling story, its themes are universal, and it touches the audience in many ways. As Mrs. Potts sings, Beauty and the Beast is "A Tale as Old as Time."

A Massachusetts Educational Theater Guild award winner, Eve Carciofi is a freshman Pre-Pharmacy major. She played the roles of Silly Girl #3, napkin, and the wolf in this production of Beauty and the Beast. This is her first production with the Stageless Players, but her second production of Beauty and the Beast. She was in a number of plays throughout high school including Into the Woods, Zombie Prom, and Catch Me If You Can. She co-wrote and co-directed an original show for her high school last year.

The Broadway version of Beauty and the Beast opened in 1994 and completed its 20th anniversary national tour this past July, and now the live action film is a critical and box office success.
