David Greenslade Honored at Western New England University

David E. Greenslade of Southington, CT, received the College of Engineering's Wellen G. Davison Award during College of Honors Ceremonies at Western New England University. The award is presented annually to the graduating senior who has demonstrated outstanding performance in the mechanical engineering laboratory.

Jose Riofrio, assistant professor of Mechanical Engineering, presented the award noting Greenslade's many accomplishments during his time at Western New England University including being on the winning teams in the freshman design competition in robotics his Freshman year, and the Mechanics and Materials competition in his Sophomore year.

In his Jurnior year, Greenslades team won the Highest Kinetic Energy and Best Overall Design categories in the Mechatronics class competition. This year, Greenslade is the founding member and project lead of the new Mini Baja Team which is designing and building a single-passenger off-road dune buggy which will compete against 100 other teams from top-tier universities from the US and abroad in June of 2015.

Greenslade graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree and will continue his education to earn his master's degree.
