Christina Mucinski-Gargon Presents Research Findings at fall 2016 Poster Session

Christina Mucinski-Gargon, a Psychology major, is one of 12 Western New England University students who participated in research opportunities this fall. The work encompassed the methodology of psychological research from the conception of a hypothesis to the publication of the results.

Mucinski-Gargon's research poject is titled "Treating Stereotypy Using Functional Communication Training, Delay Tolerance Training, and Response Chaining." This study examines the effects of functional communication training and delay tolerance training in reducing stereotypy, teaching communication skills, improving academic performance, and placing each of these skills under appropriate stimulus control.
